Ramseys Farm opens fall season with festival and 5K and 8-mile runs
Ramsey’s Farm will hold its annual Sunflower Festival beginning on Saturday, September 16th and its 5th Annual fall Pumpkin 5K Run/Walk and 8 Mile Run a few days later.
The first day the sunflower field opens (September 16th) the farm will offer extended hours (10:00 am to 8:00 pm) so visitors may watch the sun set behind the blooms. Guests will receive a sunflower with each admission. The other 50 plus farm activities will be available as well. Sunflower Days will continue the 18th, 24th and 25th.
Registration for 5K runners and walkers in the 5th Annual fall Pumpkin 5K Run/Walk will be $30 and $35 for the timed 8 Mile. Swag will include running hats sporting the farm’s graphic design.
Water, soft drinks, snacks and Gatoraid will be provided. First, second and third place finishers in each age group will receive prizes. A random drawing will take place for private family outings and gift cards.
Proceeds from the event will go to Delaware Farm Bureau Foundation, Ministry of Caring, and Kids’ Chance of Delaware.
A kids’ race will take place at the end of the adult races, and each participant will get a pumpkin and/or a prize.
Gates open at 6:30 am on race day. Check-in and registration will be from 7:00 am to 7:45 am.
