Shredding event in Colorado Springs
An event is coming up to help residents of Colorado Springs with one of today’s perpetual problems—how to get rid of sensitive paperwork.
The Environment Division of the El Paso County Community Service Department is sponsoring a document shredding event that will allow people to safely dispose of materials that contain personal information.
To avoid traffic congestion and long waits, it is necessary to pre-register for the event. Although it is free to register, people are asked to bring their ticket with them, either a paper ticket or an electronic version, or they will not be able to attend. Only one ticket is necessary per household.
The material that will be accepted for shredding is limited to three copier boxes of standard size, not larger than 11x17x11 inches. Documents in binders will have to be removed, and the facility is requesting that people bring their documents boxes only, not trash bags. The three-box limit, as well as the size limits, will be enforced. Banner printing can be used to create directional signage for outdoor events like this.
In addition, to prevent the Super Shredder event from becoming a “super spreader” event, masks must be worn. Finally, those who wish to donate to Care & Share will be able to do so using check or cash only.
The Super Shredder is set for May 15, from 9.30 am until 12.00 pm at the El Paso County Household Hazardous Waste Facility on Akers Drive.
