A large storm coming in from the Pacific has forced Professor Phineas T. Pennypickle to postpone the Winter Wonderland event by a week, but the yearly celebration will still go ahead.
Every year in Temecula, the Professor invites families to celebrate the Christmas season with a visit to his workshop. The Winter Wonderland is sponsored by the city, and takes place in Pennypickle's Workshop, which is located in the Temecula Children's Museum.
Over the years, the event has become a tradition for area families. The main attraction is the abundance of snow trucked in and dumped to create a ‘Snow Zone’ for children to play in. Since Temecula does not ordinarily get snow, this is a novelty for local kids.
In addition to making snowmen, having snowball fights, and making snow angels, visitors to Professor Pennypickle's establishment can visit Santa, eat s'mores, drink homemade cocoa, partake in face-painting fun, and shop for those last-minute gifts. Children can find presents for their parents in Beaker's Secret Store, while adults look through the offerings at Pennypickle's gift shop.
Organizers might want to work with a banner printing company to create a large, colorful banner to welcome visitors. Admission to Pennypickle's Winter Wonderland is free, but tickets to activities are $1 each. The event is open December 19 from 5:00 pm to 8:30 pm.
