At a luncheon in the main ballroom of the Pechanga Resort, Visit Temecula Valley recently announced that there was a 26% increase in visitor spending in the Temecula Valley last year, mostly due to the Pechanga Resort Casino and attractions in the wine country.
The economic impact report also disclosed that spending on lodging, recreation, and other commerce centered on tourism was $1.1bn last year, an increase of $2m from 2017. Tourists spent their money on hotels, bed-and-breakfast places, the French Valley Airport and many other businesses in the area. The major attractions were the Temecula Valley Wine Country, Old Town Temecula, and the casino, added Jared Munoa, President of Pechanga Development Corp.
Chief Executive Officer of Visit Temecula Valley, Kimberly Adams, commented that overnight rental guests from local visitors to Temecula Valley contributed $705m of the total visitor spending of $1.1 billion. Those who took day trips or traveled at least 50 miles from their homes one way spent $281m, which was a record-breaking sum.
It is also estimated that this growth in spending contributed to the creation of 9,000 jobs. Such new positions often look to business card printing as one way to promote their companies.
Visit Temecula Valley is a marketing organization for the hospitality industry that represents businesses in the area.
