Time to set sail with Temecula regatta

The Temecula Boat Regatta will be back for another year, and local individuals and families are invited to build a boat and make it float.

This yearly event sees amateur boat builders craft their own vessels using nothing more than a few pieces of cardboard and some rolls of duct Tape. After that, the craft will set sail in the Community Recreation Center (CRC) pool with a crew of two who will paddle it to possible victory. Each team is welcome to submit one than one entry, but they will need to register each one separately to do so. The winner will receive bragging rights and a chance to show off their creative talents. A local Stationery printing company can supply customized certificates for each person who participates in a community activity such as this.

This activity will take place in the CRC, which is located at 30875 Rancho Vista Road in Temecula. Staff member Dawn Adamiak will provide supervision for the event, and the fee for each entry has been set at $10 per boat.

The Build Your Own Boat Regatta will be taking to the waters of Temecula’s CRC pool on August 18. It will run from 6:30 pm until 9:00 pm, with further details and a chance to sign up available on the city’s website event listings.
