The next time Temecula officials authorize a city brochure printing order, the publication will feature a new name in an important role: Randi Johl.
Johl began her duties as City Clerk on July 9, taking over a position that had been vacant since Susan Jones retired on December 27, 2013.
It took two rounds of national recruitment and advertisement before Johl was selected and agreed to take the position. According to Temecula Outreach, the job offers an annual salary range of $102,950 to $144,945, plus the standard package of benefits offered to all city employees.
The City Clerk is integral to the smooth operations of municipal governance. In Temecula, this position is responsible for management and oversight of the City Clerk’s Office, which administers Municipal Elections, Records Management and manages the City Council legislative procedures, including agenda management and coordination.
Johl received her law degree from Trinity Law School. She has prior experience in the role of City Clerk for the municipalities of Fountain Valley and Lodi. Her résumé also indicates she currently serves and the Legislative Director for the statewide association of City Clerks and is the Department Representative on the League of California Cities Board of Directors.
Temecula officials will be hopeful that she can be a good fit for the city and bring excellent skills to Temecula’s Executive Management Team.
