The City of Temecula will be promoting Down Syndrome Awareness as part of World Down Syndrome Day (WDSD) later this month.
The celebration will be held in the early evening and will be a gathering of families and individuals with Down syndrome participating in various activities. These will serve to create a united front to ensure the inclusion of people with Down syndrome and increase awareness of the genetic disorder. Such awareness is often disseminated through flyer printing services. The event will also feature several special guests and performances by the High Hopes Dance Program.
James “Stew” Stewart, mayor of Temecula, said that this year of #TemeculaFUN will be focusing on friends and family. This event, in particular, is one that is family-friendly and celebrates the rewarding and positive contributions of those with Down syndrome to the community and across the globe. He added that when he sees those with Down Syndrome in the workplace and elsewhere benefitting the community, that he supports their efforts as these happy and unique influences are an inspiration to everyone.
Mike Naggar, a member of the Temecula City Council, expressed his pride in the endeavors that have been undertaken to make the city and surrounding communities more inclusive. The event will be held at City Hall on Saturday, March 21 beginning at 7:00 p.m.
