Temecula to celebrate citys diversity

The Temecula Valley Museum and the Community Services Department of the city are collaborating to offer a new monthly program called Second Saturday.

The focus of the program is to commemorate the heritage and history of the diversity in cultures within the city.

The museum created this program to honor the city’s motto of Old Traditions, New Opportunities, and to learn more about the history of the people who live in Temecula and celebrate contemporary life. Each month, a different culture will be featured, with art, music, food and many other activities.

Tony Moramarco, an artist in the local area, will be offering art classes related to the theme of the month. Various kinds of promotional products can be used to publicize such events and their special themes.

This program starts this Saturday, February 9, and will celebrate the Chinese New Year. It will take place from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Temecula Valley Museum, where there will be Chinese food, activities to make Chinese lanterns, and opportunities to have pictures taken in front of the Chinese New Year photo wall. At 11:30, in front of the museum, there will be a traditional Lion dance.

Other cultures to be commemorated the second Saturday of the month include Ireland in March, the Netherlands in April, Polynesia in May, and Africa in June.
