A summer campaign is currently underway by the city of Temecula to raise awareness about and promote safer driving.
There are more measures to calm traffic at key locations where speeding is often an issue and the addition of more deputy patrols. On display near the theater at Promenade Temecula is a vehicle that has gone through a serious crash as a reminder of the dangers of texting while driving. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration of the United States Department of Transportation has also released a video on the possible consequences of texting and driving.
There will also be another vehicle that has been significantly damaged due to driving while under the influence of drugs or alcohol that will be in front of City Hall.
Flyer printing can also be used to provide more information to residents about such topics in efforts to raise awareness about such important issues.
The California Highway Patrol in Temecula, the Southern California Association of Governments Go Human outreach, the Sheriff’s Takeover Racing EnforcEment Team from the Riverside County sheriff’s office, and the DUI Terminator Team are assisting in these efforts.
This month’s topic to be highlighted is driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol while next month the topic will be pedestrian crosswalk safety, bicycling, and those who speed and go through red lights.
