Temecula lights up city hall

The Temecula City Hall is currently being lit by the nation’s colors along with the playing of “God Bless America” on the chimes of the clock tower.

James “Stew” Stewart, mayor of Temecula, had requested that such patriotism be encouraged at this time. He said that City Hall will become a beacon of hope during the playing of the chimes as everyone is going through some challenging days. He added that it is important for people to stay healthy and safe, but also to remain hopeful as everyone in the city bands together to get through these days of difficulty.

The red, white, and blue lighting will be displayed nightly for as long as it is needed. Also continuing indefinitely will be the playing of “God Bless America” at 8:00 pm every night. Print shops can be hired to create materials so that residents become aware of such displays.

There are many resources that are also being offered throughout the city for senior citizens at this time. Meals are available for curbside pickup at the Mary Phillips Senior Center for those 60 years of age and older. The Riverside County Office on Aging is also providing meals delivered at home for those who cannot take care of their own nutritional needs. Temecula Noon Rotary also has a Senior Outreach Committee to assist seniors in need.
