Temecula will soon have its own cadre of ambassadors thanks to the city’s Economic Development Division (EDD).
A two-day, intensive workshop geared toward real estate professionals is being introduced by EDD in July. The Temecula Trekkers Ambassador Program has been set up to educate realtors on the finer points of local government operations, services, and resources that specifically impact city homeowners.
The information provided by city staff will include such topics as the basics of city planning and public works, property tax rates, public safety, housing options, arts and educational resources, business services, and tourism.
Temecula Trekkers is based on a simple concept - settling in a new location is easier for those who know what is available at the municipal level and how to access resources. This informal network of knowledgeable realtors not only assists newcomers, they also provide a valuable civic service on behalf of city government.
Currently, EDD is planning to offer the ambassadors program once a year. The first of the sessions will take place in just over a week’s time, on Wednesday, July 9 and Thursday, July 10 at the Temecula Conference Center. There is a $25 fee to take part.
Participants who complete the workshop will receive a Certificate of Completion, and can add a new line to their next business card printing order – ‘official Temecula Trekker’.
