Temecula cop lends a helping hand

A recent act of kindness by a Temecula police officer towards a homeless woman has captured the interested of Facebook users from all over the globe.

Officer Bruce Pierson was called out to the Promenade Mall, and when he arrived, he ended up speaking to a woman who was homeless. She explained that she had been going without shoes for several months, and when he saw the condition of her feet, he knew he had to help.

Officer Pierson invited the woman to come along with him to a nearby shoe store, where he told her he would be happy to buy her whichever pair of shoes she chose.

As he talked with her, others overheard what was happening and offered to help as well. She ended up with two new pairs of shoes, a scarf, some socks, and a beanie.

According to Officer Pierson, it was a very moving experience. When his wife found out what he had done, she also purchased some items for her, and gave her the name of a local organization that provides assistance the homeless. A business card printing company can produce cards that have the contact information of local social service organizations that that officers can give to those who might benefit form contacting them.

One of the shoppers who had offered to help had taken some photos of the act of kindness, which he placed on his Facebook page. It quickly became viral, and has been shared 100,000 times since then.
