Grants in the amount of $4,800 and $4,360 have been given to Youth Arts Action and the Veterans in the Arts program of the Community Services Department of the City of Temecula, respectively.
Mike Naggar, mayor of Temecula, said that during a year in which the California Arts Council has set many records, the city is proud to receive these two grants that will benefit youth and veterans in the city with community-based projects.
Announcements such as these are often advertised throughout a community using banner printing.
Chair of the California Arts Council, Nashormeh Lindo, expressed the importance of culture and the arts to people as they serve to understand and address issues in society. Lindo added that the Council looks to support the Community Services Department of Temecula and what it is doing to improve the life in the state for everyone.
The funds received for the Veterans in the Arts program will go towards helping the Temecula Valley Museum to record the personal histories of the veterans in the city, allowing current and future residents to learn about their experiences. Veterans from the Korean and Vietnam War will be featured in this Oral History Project, which is a sequel to a documentary made by the museum in 2014 about the remembrances of those who served in World War II.
