Turkey Trot gives a reason to gobble this Thanksgiving

The city of Roseville will once again be hosting its annual Turkey Trot races at the end of the month. The Thanksgiving-themed event begins and ends at Vernon Street Town Square, but there are three levels of competition for runners, walkers, and joggers of all ages. Kids under 14 can participate in the Young Racers course, and older competitors can take part in 5K or 10K races.

The early start will give runners plenty of time to return home in time for their Thanksgiving festivities, and they might even be able to catch the parades. It offers a way to burn some calories and work up an appetite before digging in to an afternoon feast. As well as this, every participant will receive a long sleeved T-shirt to mark the occasion, and medals will be awarded to the top three runners of each gender in nine different age categories. Roseville residents have also created a ‘Couch to 5K’ program to assist runners train for the big race.

Athletes who would like to participate in the races are required to register before the event. Registration packets are available at the Roseville Sports Center, and entry fees range from $25 to $45. More information about the Turkey Trot is available online at the Roseville City website.

A local fun run is a great way to build community spirit, and it can be fairly easy to promote. A local printing company is a great resource for creating everything from eye-catching promotional Posters to high-quality registration packets.

The races begin at 9:00 am on Thursday, November 28, and the event will take place rain or shine.
