This weekend, locals of all backgrounds will be celebrating the culture of Mexico at Roseville Fiestaval.
The event will be divided into a morning family-oriented affair and an evening of Los Lobos in concert. Proceeds will go to the Children’s Miracle Network, Blue Heart International, and Big Brother Big Sisters.
The morning part of the festival will center on a health fair emphasizing fitness, nutrition, safety, and health. Billed as a “Family Fiesta Fun Day”, this part of the event will celebrate healthy, happy families. Non-profit organizations will be setting up booths with interactive activities.
Concert-goers are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets later in the afternoon to enjoy Los Lobos, featuring Malo. The Rhythm Vandals, Viva Santana, Mariachi Los Gallos, and Folklonco Calli Dance Academy of Sacramento will be the night’s opening acts. No cameras with lenses will be permitted, so cell phones will have to do the job if any future poster printing is to be done. All tickets are being sold online and ID will be asked for at the gate, and the event will take place regardless of the weather.
The Fiestaval will be held on Sunday, May 25 at Roseville-Vernon Street Town Square, and will run from 10:00 pm to 1:00 pm. The concert will begin at 4:30 pm with gates opening half an hour before.
