Roseville small businesses to get a show

Existing and potential entrepreneurs in Roseville will soon get the opportunity to attend an expo and seminar created to help new small businesses get started, and existing businesses grow.

The State Board of Equalization will be presenting its annual Roseville Small Business Seminar & Resource Expo. This year’s theme will be ‘Strategies for Success in Today's Economy’.

Topics to be presented for the new entrepreneur will be ‘Lending and Alternative Financing’, ‘Creating a Winning Business Plan’, and ‘Forms of Ownership’. Topics slated for existing small businesses will be ‘Avoiding Common Sales and Use Tax Problems’, ‘Workforce Development’, ‘Better Business through Better Records’, and ‘Use Tax and Basic Sales’. Advantage Roseville will be hosting a free luncheon.

Tom Scott of NFIB and Barry Brooms of Greater Sacramento will be giving the keynote address ‘Creative Ways to Advance Your Business’. Presenters that have been invited are Wells Fargo, the California State Board of Equalization, the Internal Revenue Service, the Greater Sacramento Area Economic Council, Capital Region Small Business Development Center, and the Franchise Tax Board. This may be a great networking opportunity, so both guests and presenters will certainly want to bring plenty of digital Business Cards.

The expo will be held October 28 at the Maidu Community Center, 1550 Maidu Drive, starting at 9:00 am and ending at 2:30 pm.
