This year, the Roseville Annual Turkey Trot is going online. Running distances will be the usual 11.26 mile, 10K, 5K, and one-mile.
Since this will be a virtual event, participants can run, walk, skip, or crawl on their blocks, in their neighborhoods, or go along suggested routes.
Suggested 5k routes are out-and-backs starting in downtown Roseville, Orvietto Drive parking lot, Maidu Regional Park, and the trailhead at Nichol Park. Suggested courses for the 10k will also be an out-and-back starting at Miner’s Ravine in downtown Roseville, and at the trailhead at Blue Oaks Park. Suggested routes for the one-mile run will be an out-and-back at Roseville Aquatics Complex and a loop beginning at Maidu Regional Park.
Registration will be $25 and an additional $7 will be added if swag is sent through the mail. The first 1,000 runners to register will receive medals. Shirts sporting the event’s turkey graphic design are guaranteed to those preregistering before November 25.
The National Anthem Contest is in full swing. Interested parties can record both a video and an audio version of the national anthem for the Turkey Trot and submit them to jnereson@roseville.ca.us before October 28. The winner will be selected on November 2.
Roseville Turkey Trot will go online Thursday, November 19 and results must be uploaded before the following Thursday, November 26. A montage of messages from local military service members will be aired on Roseville’s Turkey Trot website during the week.
