Roseville keeps active this fall

Roseville residents have a fitness program, kickoff event and a lively cultural festival coming over the next few weeks.

Roseville’s Parks, Recreation and Libraries Department has developed a new initiative called Be Well Roseville. This program is an effort to create a healthier city through good nutrition, physical exercise and body/mind renewal.

As a precursor to the initiative, local parks will be holding Fitness in the Park, free Saturday fitness classes taught by COR fitness instructors. This program will begin September 4th, continue to October 2nd and run from 8:30 am until 9:30 am. Luken Park will start with family yoga. Maidu Park will have Tai Chi the next week and Mahany Park will offer Zuma. Family yoga will move to Crabb Park and Zumba will be at Royer Park the first Saturday in October.

The Be Well Roseville Kickoff event will feature fitness demonstrations, min-workout classes, a nutrition workshop and healthy snack ideas.

Be Well Roseville Kickoff event will take place at 311 Vernon Street from 9:00 am until noon Saturday, October 9th.

Another fitness option will be dancing the polka in an air conditioned ballroom at the 31st Annual Polish Festival. The festival will also celebrate Polish culture with song, traditional food and drinks.

Associations that organize events such as this often have pictures taken during the event that become part of the association’s informative brochure printing.

The festival will be Saturday, September 18th from noon until 6:00 pm at 327 Main Street.
