TEDxRoseville will be a TED-like experience organized by local supporters. The event will feature live speakers as well as TED Talks videos. This inaugural event theme will be “Hero’s Journey.”
The talks are given by interesting original-thinking individuals in various genres such as business, education, science, technology, and creativity. Their new perspectives are an effort to fuel discussion and thought.
Over 3,400 talks have originated at TED Conferences and put online by the TED Talks American media organization. The mission of this initiative is to change lives and attitudes through listening to the world’s most inspired leaders.
TEDx programs, like the one here in Roseville, are local independently organized under the direction of TED. The events have a format, guidelines, and coaching for speakers directives from TED.
The event will have 20 local and regional live speakers. One presenter will be Heather Whiteman. She will discuss how social justice can be brought about by our data-driven technological world.
Attendees at events such as these often ask their favorite speakers for their Business Cards. That way, they can get in touch with them at a later date for future speaking engagements.
TEDx Roseville is scheduled to take place Saturday, July 18 from 8:00 am until 9:00 pm at Acton Academy Place, 725 Vernon Street, Roseville. Tickets are $99 and space is limited to 250 guests.
