It’s June and the Placer County Fair is coming soon. This year, it will include still exhibits, livestock and auctions, live bands, carnival rides, food, the Miss Placer County Pageant and local artisans.
The still exhibits have been divided into 118 youth and adult divisions. Adults will be showing their talents in everything from afghans, birdhouses, fruit, and jellies to scarecrows, quilts, weeds and woodworking. Youth will also be competing in categories such as art, breads, graphic design, metalwork, power mechanics, and photography.
Small animal and large livestock will be on display. Junior entries will include beef, sheep, goats, swine, and alpacas. Small animals will include young boars, poultry, sows, dog care, turkeys, chickens, ducks, and rabbits.
Multiple stages will feature local talent, kids’ programs such as Kids’ Celebration Family Fun and Aqua Smart Family Fun, and shows including Betty Breakers Show, Davis’ Muttley Crew, and Dream and the Dreamer.
Carnival ride tickets will be $1.25 each and can be included in special family packages. Wristbands may be purchased for one day for $30, $85 for the unlimited all four days, and $50 for weekend passes.
Placer County Fair will start June 21 and run through June 24 at the Placer County Fairgrounds 800 All America City Boulevard. Hours of operation will be Thursday and Friday from 5:00 pm until 11:00 pm and Saturday and Sunday from noon until 11:00 pm.
