Roseville families will be marking their Calendars for the upcoming 24th Roseville Bikefest. The event will be free, and everyone is invited to bring their bikes and helmets for safety inspections.
There will be riding demonstrations and an obstacle course for the kids. Kids will also receive prizes that have a bike theme. Some lucky children will win bicycles.
Roseville fire and police personnel will be on hand to meet guests and answer any questions about bike safety. Refreshments will be served, and local talent will be giving live performances. Local bike shops will be conducting the bicycle safety check-ups and helmet fittings.
This event is part of Roseville’s Biking Friendly Community initiative that has been around since 1994 (and plans are being made to update the City of Roseville Bicycle Master Plan this year). Today over 90 miles of bike lanes have been installed on our city’s streets and 34 miles of bike paths in the area.
The city has also installed electronic bike lockers throughout the city that are available to bikers 24 hours a day. The locations of these lockers are at Amtrak Station (at North Grant Street and Church Street), Mahany Park, Saugstad Park, and on Taylor Road between E. Roseville Parkway and Eureka Road (stop for Placer County Transit and Roseville Transit).
Bikefest will be at Mahany Park, 1545 Pleasant Grove Boulevard, Roseville on Saturday, September 23 from 9:00 am until noon.
