Locals to celebrate Earth Day

All Roseville citizens concerned about the environment are invited to the Eighth Annual Celebrate the Earth Festival. The free event is being sponsored by Whole Foods Market.

Local green organizations and businesses will be getting their banner printing done in time to decorate their booths. Local food trucks will be available in the courtyard. Live entertainment, including a mad scientist, live music, a Free-Style Clothing recycled fashion show, and wild animal displays, will be entertaining the crowd throughout the day.

The first 500 Android and iOS users who download a special app can participate in the Scavenger Hunt for bragging rights and prizes. Artists and hopefuls who wish to participate in the ‘Flip My Fridge’ promotion can pick up their refrigerator doors at the Roseville Electric Utility booth and return them decorated with recycled items and art mediums by May 26th.

Visitors can view the latest in electric vehicles, and other green technology. Those who have not yet had the opportunity can get a tour through the city’s technology advanced mobile library. Festival goers who ride the free Roseville Transit to the site may win a Fitbit activity tracker and those bicyclists who leave their wheels at the free parking booth will get free bike-related gifts.

The Festival is scheduled for April 18, from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm at the Utility Exploration Center in Mahany Regional Park, Roseville.
