Very soon, Roseville locals will get a chance to start off the New Year in a healthy way with the Commitment Day 5K Run/Walk.
The family friendly event has been designed to help people of all ages get outside and get going on the first day of year.
The Commitment Day run/walk was started as a way to celebrate commitment as it pertains to leading a healthy life. Running or walking is a form of aerobic exercise in that causes the heart rate to climb and breathing to pick up. It causes the whole metabolism to speed up, burning calories and exercising muscles.
Commitment Day runs have been organized in cities all across the country, with people from all walks of life committing themselves to celebrating a healthier way of life. Everyone is welcome to participate in the local event, regardless of age or physical condition.
Those planning to participate may want to check with their doctor and obtain appropriate shoes, while those planning to watch may want to have banner printing done to support those who are participating. Run Time Fitness will also be offering a free class before the event to help those participating get the most out of their runs.
The local Commitment Day Run will take place Friday, January 1, beginning and ending at Life Time Fitness, 1435 East Roseville Pkwy, Roseville. The event will start at 10:00 am and continue until all runners or walkers have finished. The course will be five kilometers long.
