Local venue hosts hippie musical evening

Early next month, an evening of nostalgia will come to Roseville, when Blue Line Arts presents the Cast Musical Band.

Labeled as a modern hippie and country rock band, the group plays Motown, rock, and country favorites from the ‘60s and ‘70s. Jim Goodman, the bands creator and lead artist, has written songs like ‘Everybody Needs Someone to Love’ and ‘Soul Man’. The group has a busy month, having appeared at two other venues during July

Having formed fairly recently in 2012, they will also be performing Goodman‘s original songs from his four albums. Members of the versatile ensemble include Lolli Jones on fiddle and mandolin, Paul Sutherland on lap steel and pedal steel, drummer Phil DaTore, and bassist John Chermesino. Goodman himself has been in the music business since 1976, no doubt finding himself the subject of many poster printing projects over his long career.

Those interested should plan to attend this event on Friday August 8, at Blue Line Arts, 405 Vernon Street, Suite 100, Roseville. They are reminded that this for a non-profit organization that is funded by donations, grants, memberships, and fundraising events, so attending the concert will also support local culture and art.

The doors open at 6:30 pm with the show starting at 7:00 pm. Tickets will be $24 for members or $24 for non-members.
