Fair to celebrate local agriculture

The Placer County Fair will return this year in late June. This year’s slogan is “Mooving Forward Together.”

Along with viewing Placer County’s livestock stalls, fair attendees can enjoy a livestock show.

Exhibits in categories such as agriculture, fine arts and crafts, clothing and textiles, floriculture, preserved and baked foods, photography, school projects, technology, and special education will be on display and adult winners will receive cash prizes.

Winners of fair exhibits like these often have pictures taken of themselves, their projects, and prizes, and ask local Print shops for duplicates.

The carnival will have all the games and rides, from family-friendly to thrill rides. Single tickets will be available at the venue and unlimited ride wristbands can be purchased in advance.

The Family Fun Zone will feature the All-Alaskan Racing Pigs and Pedal Pullers for the kids. There will also be cartoon and movie characters meeting and greeting the crowds. The area will have games, booths, and inflatables.

The Placer County Fair entertainment committee is selecting local musical talent for this year’s concerts.

On Sunday, the fair will host a Family Funday. The Community Stage will feature family-oriented acts such as martial arts demonstrations and performances from Roseville music studios, such as the Roseville Theatre Arts Academy and Bach to Rock. Booths will have interactive activities for the children.

This year’s Placer County Fair will run from Thursday, June 24 to Sunday, June 27 at the Grounds, 700 Event Center Drive.
