City prepares for festive parade

The Roseville Chamber of Commerce, The Press Tribune, and the City of Roseville are inviting everyone to the 53rd Annual Sylvia Besana Holiday Parade and Craft Fair at the end of this month. This is Roseville’s longest running tradition.

All entries will be judged. Winners will be announced on the Roseville Chamber of Commerce website. Businesses wishing to sponsor the event at the Snowman ($5,000), Winter Wonderland ($2,500), and North Pole ($1,000) levels will want to get their applications in as soon as possible before the parade’s banner printing is done.

The parade will offer performances by local groups, and businesses will again be presenting their self-built or professionally constructed floats. There will be band and drum corps, drill and dance teams, specialty units, and marching groups. Decorated and military vehicles are limited to 24 per unit. Commercial business entry fees are $50. Equestrian units have a $15 entry fee, and all others will be $10.

The fair will also feature handmade crafts for sale, each at least 75% handmade by the crafter.

The parade and fair will be held Saturday, November 22. The Craft Fair will start at 9:00 am on Vernon St. Town Square, and the parade will begin at 10:00 am. The parade will travel down Historic Vernon St. Winning entries can pick up their ribbon or trophy at the Roseville Chamber of Commerce after November 24.
