City gets ready for rosy Independence Day

Whether a spectator or a participant, the upcoming 4th of July Roseville celebration has something for everyone. From the early morning 5K run to the annual fireworks display in the evening, this all-day event will keep everyone in the Independence Day spirit.

To kick off the celebration, the Roseville Police Department invites all of the city to participate in its ‘Run Crime Out of Roseville! 5K Fun Run/Walk’. Individual, child, family and team registrations can be obtained at the event’s website.

After the run, the Independence Day parade will start off at the intersection of Douglas/Vernon/Riverside. Local banner printing will likely be at its finest as the parade goes up Vernon Street, passes the Civic Center, turns right on Lincoln, and right again onto Park Drive. Organizers suggest that spectators arrive early to get good viewing places.

Activities in Royer Park will begin after the parade. Food vendors, carnival games, bounce houses, and more will be on hand. The Capitol Pops Concert Band will provide live music thanks to the Performing Arts of Roseville’s sponsorship.

Fireworks will cap off the evening at the Placer County Fairgrounds. Gates open at 7pm and the program starts at 9:30pm. All activities will be held July 4th. The 5K run begins and ends at Royer Park. Start time will be at 7:45am. The parade begins at 9am.
