Napa to welcome spring with garden tour
This spring, several of Napa County’s gardens will be open to the public during a self-guided tour, which will be organized by a UC Master Gardener.
The biannual garden tour will visit six area properties, ranging from a small cottage style garden to a farmhouse, vineyard, and more, all of which are owned and maintained by local master gardeners. They will be filled with springtime flowers, and the different styles, layouts and designs will be discussed. According to event’s planners, it will give those who participate an opportunity to gain inspiration they can put to use in their own home landscapes.
Along with the tour, attendees will have a chance to purchase some gently used books to add to their gardening reference library. Those who arrive early will each receive a succulent to add to their own garden, and they will also learn tips and tricks to keep their own yards looking in the best possible condition. Moines raised through the day will be used to help support community based education programs. Maps and other materials for a self-guided event such as this can be produced by a local print company using wide format printing technology.
The Discover Garden Magic tour has been planned for May 21. Tickets can be purchased in person or through the event’s website, which also contains additional details about the tour.
