New Anaheim transit station still waiting on eateries

The new transit station in Anaheim is missing two restaurants that, according to the original plans, should have been opened by now but are still in the works.

Ritter’s and Alchemist HQ will begin paying rent on their space at the Anaheim Regional Transport Intermodal Center (ARTIC) this month. However, neither establishment has even begun construction, partly due to a delay in the installation of the cooking-ventilation systems. Those systems were installed in April and now the business owners hope to get the ball rolling on their respective projects.

No doubt each of the restaurant owners is looking forward to the day when the only thing left to consider is which Stationery printing company to contact for their Print supplies.

Ritter’s is expected to have its building permit acted upon this month and, if approved, construction of its 4,000-square-foot establishment will begin soon. Commuters at ARTIC had begun to wonder whether the Cajun-style sit-down restaurant was ever going to open its doors. A sign announcing its pending construction was removed for a filming of a ‘True Detective’ episode in the station.

Alchemist HQ owner Leonard Chan is waiting on a permit from the county health department, which he says may allow him to begin construction next month. However, according to city officials, Alchemist HQ has not yet had a building permit submitted on its behalf. Chan hopes in about five months to have Alchemist HQ open for business.
