Plans revealed for new Aldi in Hedge End

Hedge End, just outside Southampton, could have new Aldi branch, according to newly released Plans.

Budget supermarket giant Aldi has launched a public consultation on its proposal to open an outlet in Hedge End Retail Park. If the Plans get the green light from local councillors, a 1.315 square metre site will be established that will use modern materials and sustainable methods. It will also create 30 new jobs for the local area, each paying above the National Living Wage.

Leaflets have now been distributed among nearby residents as the grocer launches a dedicated consultation for its newly planned outlet. Supermarkets often also employ flyer printing services to create marketing materials outlining special offers and discounts available in store.

A spokesperson from Aldi recently commented on the new initiative:

“Aldi has wanted to open a new store in Hedge End, Southampton for some time and is delighted to have a found a site at the Hedge End Retail Park. The site is ideally located on an existing retail facility with good transport links.”

The spokesperson added that currently residents need to drive beyond the local area to access Aldi’s lower-priced groceries.

The new Plans come less than one month since the German supermarket chain released its favoured locations for new stores – a list that included Hedge End.
