Chart-topping rockers sail into Southampton

Southampton is extending a winter welcome to British rock legends Slade, just in time for Christmas.

Music fans from Bitterne Park and Bassett, to Hedge End in Southampton will be sure not to miss the return of Wolverhampton rockers Slade.

The band rose to fame during the glam rock era and with six number one hits and 12 top 20 tracks in a row, their sales of singles have resulted in being accredited as Britain’s most successful band of the ‘70s. Slade’s six singles that topped the UK charts were written by bassist Jim Lea and frontman Noddy Holder, and their famous seasonal anthem "Merry Xmas Everybody", has now sold over a million Copies.

Those attending the show performed by Slade’s latest line up will have a chance to hear famous tracks like Cum on Feel The Noize, Coz I love You, Take Me Back ‘Ome, and many others.

The venue for the winter concert is Southampton’s Engine Rooms on West Quay Road, a popular event space known for live music, club nights and roller disco for kids and adults alike.
