Timmins workshop to explore due diligence

The primary resource sector is extremely important to Timmins’ economy, and a workshop next week is aimed at those who work in the mining industry in supervisory roles.

Workplace Safety North (WSN) has made arrangements to host “Duly Diligent Mining Supervisor”, which will introduce the topic of due diligence and how it is important in the workplace. It will include a discussion of pertinent provincial and federal legislation. The suggested prerequisite for those who wish to register the course is WSN's Act & Mining Regulations.

Those who feel this continuing education opportunity could be useful to them can choose from in-person or online attendance options. In either case, it will be a one-day-long activity. The participants will learn what due diligence means, how it can be applied to a mining environment, and the important role it plays in ensuring overall workplace safety. The tuition fee is $220 whether a person registers for the in-person or virtual version.

It was explained in the function’s description that each student will receive a copy of “Supervisor’s Notebook.” Custom-designed and professionally printed materials for an activity will be available at area Stationery printers.

Workplace Safety North will be offering this training opportunity next Tuesday, November 22. The Holiday Inn Express and Suites in Timmins has been chosen to be the venue for the day.
