Transitioning into a leadership role may not always be an easy change, and an online course will give Timmins residents tools they can use to help make the process go more smoothly.
The “Introduction to Supervisory Management” series of workshops has been designed to aid in making the switch to a management role a positive experience, and it will take place over four half-day sessions. It will be offered using the Zoom platform, and the cost to participate is $487.37.
The learning will open with a review of the role of a manager and leader, and from there, the group will talk about decision-making skills. The importance of the “psychological contract” in the workplace will be the next topic on the agenda, which will be followed by a discussion about effective meeting and communication skills. Goal setting, motivation and conflict management will also be included, and the instruction will draw to a clause with a review of the importance of self-care.
Learners on courses such as this often benefit from having hard copy materials. Print shops often prepare manuals and other resources that are distributed to each of the registered students.
The Introduction to Supervisory Management workshops will be hosted by the Northern Training Division. The first workshop will begin on November 2nd, while the second is set to start on December 7th. More information about the registration process can be found on the Northern College website.
