Timmins seminar to help build better workplaces

Navigating the modern workplace may not always be an easy task, but a Timmins workshop may be able to help.

Northern Training Division has made arrangements to offer a full day continuing education opportunity that will explore how to create a respectful and safe workplace for everyone, regardless of gender, race or disability. It will use the Ontario Human Rights Code and the Occupational Health and Safety Act as cornerstones for the learning. The registration fee is $310.75, which includes sales tax.

The participants will explore how these pieces of legislation can be applied to the modern workplace, including ways they protect employees who may be part of a vulnerable population. The goal is for the participants to walk away with a better understanding of how they can balance these measures with creating an environment that is safe and productive for staff, customers, and visitors alike.

Due to the Covid pandemic, the plan is for this activity to be hosted online over the Zoom platform. Packages of additional learning materials can be put together by a brochure printing company to mail out to anyone who registers for this sort of event.

The Creating a Safe and Respectful Workplace seminar will welcome participants next Tuesday, July 20. The day will run from 9:00 am until 4:00 pm, and questions may be directed to training@northern.on.ca.
