Shania Twain Centre brings the tourists

One of the most successful people to come out of Timmins, Ontario is Shania Twain. The country singer who has just been inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame moved to Timmins when she was 2-years-old and still considers the town to be her hometown. Her city has honoured her with the state-of-the-art Shania Twain Centre. Printing companies in Timmins helped produce the promotional literature and official logo for the Centre.

The Shania Twain Centre opened officially on June 30, 2001. The centre has received some funding from the Canadian government and from Shania Twain herself. It is an 11,500 square foot space that hosts a number of exhibits as well as other community events. The centre is open 7 days a week from 10 AM until 5 PM. Admission is $9 for adults and $7 for children and seniors.

The Shania Twain Centre features multimedia displays, Shania Twain memorabilia (Shania even donated a tour bus to the centre), concert simulations and interactive musical exhibits. Tourists come from all over the world to visit the centre and show their love for their favourite singer. Additionally, a yearly fan convention has been held since 2003; it takes place in August and draws fans from places such as England, the United States, and The Netherlands. Convention attendees receive a T-shirt, several meals, transportation and a goodie bag.

Printing companies in Timmins continue to help in the production of whatever printing materials are needed for the Shania Twain Centre.
