Annual fundraisers will benefit the Diabetes Society

Two upcoming events in the Timmins area this spring will raise funds for the Canadian Diabetes Society.

The first event is the 4th annual Grape Expectations for Diabetes, which is taking place in Timmins this May.

Guests will have the opportunity to sample a variety of international wines. The price of admission includes appetizers, wine tasting, and a sampling glass. Attendance is limited to 125 people.

There will also be a silent auction, prize drawings, and a variety of local business vendors. In addition, there are set to be displays and information from community organizations and from the Diabetes Society.

Timmins printing companies are sometimes asked to help advertise events such as this, by providing products such as Flyers and Posters to be distributed throughout the community.

Another event taking place in the city is ‘Put a Squeeze on Diabetes’. This will be a pop-up lemonade stand that will be raising funds for Camp Huronda – a summer camp for children and youth who suffer from Type 1 Diabetes. Similar events are taking place all over the province. This will be held on June 13th at 219 Camille Street.

Grape Expectations for Diabetes will be held at Cedar Meadows on May 30th from 7:00pm - 11:00pm. Tickets are $40 each. To find out more about this event or to become a vendor, contact Julie at 705-267-1191.
