Pickering club to present traditional fair

The Claremont Lions Club will be holding its annual Fair & Vendor Market this June, combining family favourite carnival attractions with a chance to sample local businesses.

The fair will include a classic midway with rides such as Tubs of Fun and the Pirate Ship aimed at young visitors, as well as four skill-testing games with prizes. Visitors can also sample local eateries in The Sandwich Shack Food Truck, Stratford-based snack company Poppin’ Kettle Corn, or Christina Cooks of Stouffville’s fresh-made pizza. There will also be activities like balloon sculptures and caricature drawing. For the grown-ups, there will be a silent auction with prizes donated by local businesses, with proceeds going towards the Lions Club’s charitable efforts.

One of the major attractions of the event will be a vendor market featuring handmade goods from local artists, artisans and small businesses. Vendors at events like this often take the time to make personal connections, handing out promotional items and businesses cards. The Lions Club’s summer event has taken different forms over the years, including a garage sale, but has always aimed to bring the Pickering community together. Admission will be free to all, with the venue wheelchair accessible.

The 2025 Claremont Lions Club Fair & Vendor Market will take place on the afternoon of June 14 on Old Brock Road in Pickering.
