One of Milton’s longest-running charity events will hit the quarter-century mark this September, as Kiwanas holds its 25th Annual Golf Classic.
The registration fee provides donors with a full 18 holes on the links in a casual but competitive environment. The tournament uses a “best ball” format designed for all skill levels, and there will also be a putting contest and prizes for the longest drive and closest to the hole. Prizes will also be available through a raffle, with items donated from local businesses. There will be a gala dinner following the tournament, and donors can register for just the dinner for a smaller fee.
All proceeds from the Golf Classic go towards Kerry’s Place Autism Services, which provides summer camps and “Day Camp Adventure experiences” for youth with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in Peel Region.
Kerry’s Place has been in existence since 1974 and provides various supports for children and adults with ASD. The Kiwanis-hosted fundraiser has long partnered with Kerry’s Place to help over a thousand children over its 25-year existence. Charitable events such as this, often using items such as banner printing and VIP seats to reward and recognize generous donors, can become long-lasting pillars of the community.
The 2023 Annual Golf Classic hosted by Kiwanis will be held on September 13 at the Granite Ridge Golf Course in Milton.
