Knowing what to do in an emergency can save an animal’s life, and a Halifax-area workshop will equip pet parents with these skills.
Walks ‘N’ Wags Pet First Aid is offering a supplementary learning opportunity for those who already have a grounding in pet first aid. Called “Off the Grid”, it may be of interest to hikers, farmers, cabin owners and anyone else who enjoys spending time with their furry friend out in the great outdoors.
The topics on the agenda include how to plan a trip that will be pet friendly, along with improving rescue equipment. There will also be a review of treating issues like shock, poisoning, pain and injuries, and patient evaluation is on the syllabus as well. It has been specified that students must have previously completed the pet first aid course offered by Walks and Wags, and there will be at least one live cat or dog on site during the workshop.
At the end of the class, the participants will each receive their Off the Grid certification. Print shops can prepare these sorts of customized materials.
