This July, the skies above Halifax will be filled with kites, and this colourful day of high-flying fun will welcome all members of the public.
Returning for its fifth year, the East Coast Kite festival will offer free entry to one and all, and attendees will find that there will be lots to enjoy. Anyone who would like to try their hand at kite flying will be able to buy or rent one on site, and there will be a selection of up to 50 styles to choose from.
If some attendees do not want to get in on the kite-flying action themselves, they can still spread out a towel or blanket on the hill and watch the show. Food trucks will be serving up a wide selection of fare, and it will be an alcohol-free event.
The festival’s organizers pointed out that there may still be spaces for additional vendors to reserve a spot, and volunteers are also needed to make the function a success.
