Halifax foodies who would like to expand their palates when it comes to the world of wines will soon be able to do so at a local venue.
Obladee, which is located on the city’s historical Barrington Street, offers a variety of classes and other learning opportunities for the epicurious, and it has scheduled a class that will introduce fortified, sweet and rosé wines. An Introduction To Rosé, Sweet & Fortified Wine is part of a larger series, but it each session can be taken on its own.
The session will give the attendees a chance to discover a variety of wines, and they will learn how to experience the beverage using several of their senses. The basics of wine making will be introduced, and tasting techniques will be shared as well. Grape varieties and their different characteristics will be discussed, and food pairings will be on the menu as well. Each participant will receive five wine samples with food pairings, and tickets are $90.00 each.
When they head for home, each of the ticketholders will receive a copy of the materials so they can keep on learning. Stationery printers will be pleased to prepare such packets of information for those in class or other educational activity.
Obladee Wine Bar will be showcasing sweet, fortified and rosé wines on May 5th. Registrants are asked to arrive before its start of 4:00 pm.
