Even though the breeze from the harbour may be icy cold, the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia will be heating up with an annual family event.
Parents and kids can create their own gingerbread holiday homes, which may just become the centrepiece of their seasonal celebrations, at a December event.
A popular tradition with Halifax families, and both museum members and the general public are welcome to spend an afternoon creating. Participants in the function will be crafting their very own “gingerbread” houses using a variety of construction materials, including icing sugar, graham crackers and lots of candy. When they have completed their project, they can make a stop at the card-making station where they can put their creative talents to work in prepping some seasonal cards.
Participating in this sort of annual celebration can be a fun way for families to kick off the holiday season. To help make sure the public knows that it will be on offer, it can be included in the community guides and other publications prepared by Print shops that are often sent out to area households.
The Art Gallery of Nova Scotia will be hosting its Gingerbread Family Sunday event on December 8. It is scheduled to start at 12:00 pm, while the wrap- up time for the activity has been set at 4:00 pm, and is part of the institution’s Family Sunday programming.
