Halifax’s Dalhousie University has been chosen to be the venue for a September event that will be all about ensuring the Atlantic will continue to be productive well into the future.
Dubbed the ‘Sustainable Oceans Conference’, it is open to all stakeholders in the health of local marine ecosystems, and registration is now open. The event, which is organized by students participating in the university's Marine Affairs Program, is open to members of the business community as well as faculty members, students, the general public and anyone else who cares about sustainability.
The creation of a collaborative environment where all stakeholders can have a say is one of the main goals of the occasion, and as each Sustainable Oceans Conference is different, it will offer a unique perspective on the issues involved.
The organizers of the symposium explained that, if the oceans are to be protected both now and into the future, they feel that all those who make use of the ocean for food, income, recreation or other reasons need to have a seat at the discussion table.
