Halifax Chamber of Commerces shows how media can help business

The Halifax Chamber of Commerce is hosting a series of three informational sessions entitled The Media and You. The sessions will take place at the Chamber Boardroom from 12-1:30 pm. Admission is free for Chamber members.

The three sessions will be presented by Rob Gorham of the Eclipse Media Group. The series is designed to show

“how the media works, what’s important to it and how you can create a positive fit for yourself, your company or organization.”

The three sessions are:

1. Introduction to Media – January 10 – This session will explain how the media works. This will include an in-depth look at a newsroom, what the characteristics of various trends and how social media also plays a part.

2. Building Media Relations – January 17 – This session will teach you how to get positive media exposure for your company, how to develop media contacts and how to create effect news releases and press kits and how to handle press conferences.

3. Enhancing your Media Impact – January 24 – This session will allow you to use what you have learned to make a big impact.

According to what will be learned in the sessions, media exposure can be more valuable to a company than paid advertising or marketing. However, that does not mean it can replace a good marketing campaign, it should enhance it. Halifax printing companies can help you to design a marketing campaign that can be shared with the media and with the local customer through Direct Mail.

Dealing with the media is a necessary part of running a business; learning sessions such as these three are invaluable to understanding how.
