The 4th annual Hal-Con, the largest science fiction, fantasy and comic convention in Atlantic Canada, is taking place in Halifax over three days in November. Last year, the convention attracted more than 5,000 visitors.
This year the show is set to take up three floors of the World Trade and Convention Centre, with something to appeal to fans of all ages. It will feature special guests from television and motion pictures, including Billy Dee Williams, Peter Davison and Richard Hatch; comic book artists; and authors such as Terry Brooks and Robert J. Sawyer. There will also be several autograph and photo sessions.
There will be vendors located on two levels selling items such as photographs, action figures, comic Books and games. In addition, guests can take part in gaming workshops, video game tournaments, costume contests, a miniature painting competition, and a parade. Visitors can also have fun in the free pinball arcade or bid on items in a charity auction.
This popular annual event in Halifax attracts fans from all over the country. It's likely that organizers have worked with local printing companies to purchase marketing materials such as Flyers.
Hal-Con is being held at the World Trade and Convention Centre from November 8-10. A day pass is $30 for adults and $5 for children, while a weekend pass can be purchased for $70 or $60 for seniors and students; a family pass is $150.
