Vancouver shines light on corporate social responsibility

An upcoming Vancouver workshop will give those who participate knowledge and tools they can use to practice corporate social responsibility (CSR).

Christie Stephenson will be acting as a facilitator for the afternoon, which has been organized by the UBC Sauder Business Career Centre. It will teach skills that can be used by companies to improve society and support their community. These measures can range from environmental stewardship and “green’ business practices to engaging in fundraising for local not for profit groups. According to the organizers, this CSR is becoming more important in the corporate world, and an increasing number of companies are finding themselves in need of personnel who are trained in this area.

Ms. Stephenson, who is the Executive Director of the Peter P. Dhillon Centre for Business Ethic will be moderating a panel of members of both the local and global business world will be discussing the topic of CSR, and presenting their views on how they were able to utilize it in their own workplace. An office stationery printer can create promotional notepads to give to members of the audience of an event such as this so that they can make notes of the points that are made.

There is no charge to take part in the afternoon’s activities, which will take place on November 8th at HA 492 at 2053 Main Mall in Vancouver. Anyone who would like to register or obtain further details can do so through its Eventbrite listing.
